In preparation for your breast screen appointment, please ensure you read the following information carefully.
Please call 13 20 50 if:
- you are unwell (including flu-like symptoms or gastro symptoms)
- you have developed a new breast symptom or change in your breasts since booking your appointment (such as a new lump, or nipple discharge).
To make your appointment easier, please:
- fill in your Information and Consent for Screening form and bring it with you to the clinic. If you haven't received one, you can complete one when you arrive - please allow additional time for this.
- aim to arrive 10 minutes early (or 20 minutes early if you have arranged an interpreter), and allow time to find a car park.
*Please note if you are attending our David Jones Rose Clinic, the doors to David Jones open at 9.30am, so you will be unable to enter before then. - wear a 2-piece outfit (such as a top and pants), as you will be asked to undress from the waist up.
- do not wear deodorant or talcum powder - these can interfere with your X-ray images.
- ask us for a gown if you would like one. Rather than use a disposable gown, we encourage women to wrap their shirt or cardigan around their shoulders during their breast screen appointment. However, there is no compromise for your comfort, so if you would prefer a gown please ask us for one.
- please be kind. Our staff are doing their best to keep you and other clients safe, and we appreciate your help and understanding.
